A
holiday location in the centre of the This 1st floor holiday accommodation provides a clean and comfortable place to stay in the historic town of Buxton with views of its impressive buildings. The lounge and main bedroom face on to the High Street and have an enviable view of the beautiful stone work of the Methodist Church – a sight to be seen when the sun sets. The views from the windows extend to the distant horizon and the ridge of Corbar Cross and Brown Edge with the impressive Victorian Town Hall in the foreground.
There is off road parking available for one car at the rear of the
property, additional cars can be parked on the market place (car
parking charges apply - £3.50/day and restrictions apply for market
days) which is overlooked by the flat. The private ground floor entrance to the flat is on street level with an impressive staircase with panelled walls in dark wood leading to the accommodation. This was the home of a prominent doctor and his servants many years ago and he lived and practised from the building. The large lounge has a double glazed bay window and further large window where you can look out and down both ways of the town centre. Here you can sit and watch the world go by below you across a "buzzing" market place and in the evenings watch the sunset and people enjoying their evenings walking and enjoying all the different venues Buxton has to offer. The lounge has a feature fireplace and has the added benefit of an electric fire which can be switched to give an attractive warming glow and also there for any cool evenings but with the apartment having the benefit of full central heating you will be kept nice and cosy. There is a TV. The apartment has Wifi and a good mobile phone signals (for most networks) The large main bedroom again has a large bay window facing over the main street with a feature fireplace. The furniture is good quality white wood with an attractive dressing table and mirror. There is a single bedroom which is a generous size. There is a fold up guest bed that can be made available and extra linen provided if you request at time of booking. There is an extra twin bedded room that can be made available for an extra £25 per person per week (or part week). A travel cot and high chair are available on request. Linen for the cot is not provided. The large kitchen/dinner is fully fitted with washing machine, fridge freezer and microwave. Lots of work surface with kitchen dining table and chairs. The modern white tiled bathroom with full length bath and electric shower over the bath with a separate toilet which has a handbasin. Around and About With its central position you are a few steps away from the local shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, & takeaways. The buses stop or pass opposite the holiday apartment so very convenient for getting out and about into the Derbyshire Peak District with all the great walking country, pretty villages and great houses such as Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Lyme Hall. From the apartment you can stroll down to the Museum and Art Gallery then down to Spring Gardens and the Crescent. The Pavilion Gardens are a short walk away as is the Devonshire Dome with is amazing roof which is now home to the University of Derby but is open to the public to view and enjoy a coffee or food in the food outlets . The apartment is
located over a pet
food and small pets shop (only small animals like rabbits, guinea
pigs, small birds kept in the shop) - it is also a gardening shop -
please note that there are absolutely no animal smells or sounds in the rooms
above. More information about the Holiday Apartment:-
